Die WebID Solutions GmbH is one of the largest providers of digital identification and verification services in Europe. Founded in 2012, the company offers solutions that enable secure and legally compliant online identification of people. To date, WebID has checked the authenticity of more than 180 million ID data fields and identified the corresponding users.

The aim was to securely integrate and reuse online identifications in a digital wallet on a smartphone in a privacy-compliant and secure way. Personal documents such as an identity card or passport can be saved to replace the wallet with card compartment in the long term.

The challenge

Easy and intuitive addition and use of identity documents via smartphone, but without excluding important information or data. Due to the storage of personal documents with sensitive data, the user experience (UX) had to build up a high level of trust among users.
